Introducing Emoji GPS

The Community Development Department is pleased to announce Emoji GPS, a social media activity which is designed to test Barbadian’s knowledge of communities, districts, streets and other locations around Barbados. The initiative runs from October 16th, 2023, into the month of November, and features two weekly puzzles. Persons will be given a series of emojis which point to a location in Barbados. They will then be tasked with deciphering that location and presenting an answer in the comments. All correct answers will be provided at the end of the week, with prizes being awarded to social media contributors who are able to provide the first correct answer to a puzzle.

Prize Eligibility

Employees of the Ministry of Youth, Sports & Community Empowerment, and their immediate families, are not eligible to win prizes.
For daily or weekly competitions, previous winners are not eligible to win another prize for the duration of that particular competition.
Identical posts on Facebook and Instagram are treated as one and the same. Competitors may leave responses on both platforms, but if correct, that response will only be regarded once (on the platform to which it was posted first).
Prize-winners must be in a position to collect their prizes from the Community Development Department.
Winners must be willing to have their photo taken to be used by the Community Development Department and the Ministry of Youth Sports and Community Empowerment for promotional and archival purposes.

To keep up with our Emoji GPS puzzles, follow the Community Development Department on Facebook and Instagram.
