CDD Goes to AgroFest 2026
March 16, 2026
The Community Development Department joined dozens of government and private sector entities at AgroFest, Barbados’ National Agricultural Exhibition from February 28th to March 1st, 2026, at Queen’s Park, Constitution Road, St. Michael.
As usual this year’s exhibition featured numerous displays for participants which were engaging, educational and fun-filled, attracting thousands of children and adults alike.
Minister of Community Empowerment, the Honourable Charles Griffith, M.P. visited AgroFest on Sunday March 1st and spent time with the CDD exhibitors and visiting patrons to their booth. He commended the exhibitors, all of whom were graduates of the CDD Community Impact and Arts programmes.

The 2026 Community Development Department’s presentation included a ten-booth mounted display of jewelry and craft, make-up, massage corner, artifacts, the Little Libraries initiative, bag making, t-shirts, oils, shampoos, soaps and other skincare products. Minister Griffith complimented the work of the exhibitors and encouraged them to further build their skills and take their businesses to the next level.
A new feature to the Department’s presentation this year was an interactive information board which employed a large touchscreen interface that could be manipulated by CDD officers and members of the public to expose deeper information on centres, courses, programmes and more.

The Community Development Department’s presentations shared the endless opportunities of the department’s work in communities across Barbados bringing another aspect of Barbados to the other AgroFest booths, offering a variety of talent from Barbadian and regional farmers and entrepreneurs offering food, drinks, plants, treats, and an unending range of products and services.
